Job Description
Essential Position Responsibilities
Responsible for overall quality, management, and coordination of
the AmeriCorps Programs. This includes the preparation,
development, and writing of AmeriCorps Program grants and proposals
annually.
Writes grants to other funding sources, such as to local
foundations and other government organizations to supplement the
AmeriCorps grants.
Researches evidence-based College Ready, Opioid
Prevention/Abatement models, and STEM models and incorporates the
research into the AmeriCorps Programs.
Works with the Financial Oversight Manager to develop and manage
the AmeriCorps budgets to ensure program expenditures align with
funder and NAU requirements.
Develops and delivers training for AmeriCorps mentors and members
including orientation, in-service, Esprit de Corps, and direct
programming.
Serves on the CSI Leadership Team.
Supervises the AmeriCorps Program Coordinators and Administrative
Associate.
Develops and writes program performance measures and projected
outcomes for AmeriCorps Programs.
Suggests the tools to record and evaluate performance
measures.
Develops, prepares, compiles, and writes
monthly/quarterly/bi-annual reports to funders.
Develops recruitment materials, strategy, and a recruitment plan
for AmeriCorps members and host agencies.
Oversees the enrollment of AmeriCorps members.
Develops partnerships with community organizations for placements
of AmeriCorps members. Consults with community partner agencies to
develop position descriptions.
Develops sub-proposal applications/requests for proposals for
AmeriCorps site selections. Hosts, screens, and oversees the
selection of community partners for sub-contracts.
Oversees the interviewing and screening of AmeriCorps candidates to
send for site interviews. Oversees the coordination of application
and screening process, including fingerprint background checks for
all prospective members. Coordinates with NAU HR to ensure all
policies and processes are followed.
Researches and documents community needs.
Provides training, guidance, and consistency in policy and
procedure to AmeriCorps employees and members.
Networks with local, state, and national agencies for future
program development. Networks with other National Service Programs
in the area, state, and nationally. Represents the CSI Programs at
conferences.
Oversees the development of PR, PSAs, and other marketing materials
for AmeriCorps Programs.
May assist in the development and coordination of fundraising and
recognition events for AmeriCorps Programs and CSI.
May serve as a representative of center or institute on committees,
meetings, and organizations.
Represents leadership as a subject matter expert in multiple areas
of expertise.
Responsible for compliance with applicable state and federal laws
and mandates relevant policies and procedures; holds staff
accountable through various processes.
Monitors the effectiveness of center/institute programs and
recommends methods for continuous improvement.
Assists with preparing and maintaining strategic plans and
budgets.
Presents data to evaluate the efficiency of day-to-day tasks within
the center/institute and ensures all objectives are being met.
Determines outcomes and gives guidance to subordinates on how to
meet goals.
Applies awareness of trends and changes; supports efforts to
improve, modify, or design new processes.
Supports the development, implementation, and growth of programs
within center/institute.
Authorizes, with approval, necessary actions to remove obstacles to
success.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, AND
2-4 years of management or supervisory experience required,
AND
3-5 years of relevant experience including grant-writing and
program management.
