Gwynedd Mercy University, a comprehensive independent Catholic university of 2750 students located in Montgomery County, PA seeks applications and nominations for the position of Founding Director of the Speech, Language, Pathology Program in the Frances M. Maguire School of Nursing & Health Professions. This is a 12 month, non-tenure track faculty position. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become actively engaged in the development of an online exemplary and innovative communication science program culminating in a MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology. This is a unique opportunity for an individual who wants to be innovative in developing a new online graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology.
The founding director will be actively involved in curriculum design, faculty recruitment and development, laboratory design, teaching, and the development of the accreditation documents. The candidate will also have experience teaching graduate-level courses in an online modality and a proven record of academic leadership. Accordingly, candidates must present a proven record of at least 8 years of past accomplishments in teaching (minimum 3 years), administration, and clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology as outlined in Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, Standard 2.0 – Faculty. Additional requirements include: PhD in Speech-Language Pathology or Speech and Hearing Sciences, Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), and eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure. Appointment will be for 12 months with rank and salary commensurate with academic credentials and experience.
