Position Summary:

The Office of Admissions and Recruitment is seeking temporary application readers October through mid-March. Application readers will have time off over winter break (mid-December to mid-January). Readers have the flexibility to read remotely and will receive extensive training in holistic application review, which entails the detailed review of transcripts, school profiles, test scores, activities, essays, and letters of recommendation.

Candidates should not be the parent of a current junior or senior in high school.

4. Exceptional attention to detail is required.
5. Ability to work independently and efficiently around multiple deadlines.
6. Experience in the field of education or college admissions is desirable, but not required.
7. Appreciation for the diverse identities, experiences, and perspectives of applicants.
8. Proficiency with computer office applications, email, internet, and web-based communication.
9. Ability to learn software applications utilized by the Office of Admissions and Recruitment (SIS [Student Information System] and Perceptive Content).
10. Can be seated at a computer for 4-8 hours per day.
11. Ability to set up a home office space and have access to internet.
12. High level of sensitivity and confidentiality around the review process and adherence to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).

Additional Information:

--Laptop and software will be provided.
--Remote Readers should have the ability to progress to sufficiently reviewing 3-4 applications per hour following initial training in October.
--Remote Readers should be available for virtual meetings with supervisor and receptive to productive feedback.

Work Schedule:

--Must commit to working 16-29 hours/week September/October 2020 through mid-March 2021.
--Encouraged to complete as much work as possible during normal business hours Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm), but evening and weekend work is allowable.
--Flexible schedule, although seasonal schedule should be communicated in advance to supervisor.
--Remote Readers will have time off over winter break (mid-December to mid-January).

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 10 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Salary:

Minimum $15.73 HOURLY
Depending on Qualifications
