Job Summary

Provides Project Management experience and support to the Senior Manager of Construction Services and staff for district wide coordination of development, planning and construction activities including furniture specification and move coordination for new capital improvement and renovation projects, from conception through project close‐out. It involves management, development and updating of files, coordinating with consultants and several departments, and working with project and file management software in a service provider setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages project development functions from beginning to end; develops and manages project scope, budgets, schedules, and client expectations; plans and schedules project timelines and milestones, using appropriate tools; tracks project milestone and deliverables; monitors project performance and coordinates workload through the entire process to complete projects on schedule
• Participates in evaluating and selecting architectural consultants, electrical or mechanical engineering consultants and construction teams
• Collaborates with selected project architectural firms
• Assists in developing and coordinating requests for proposals ( RFP ), competitive sealed proposals ( CSP ) or request for qualifications ( RFQ ) for professional services and construction; addresses questions and other issues that arise during the pre‐proposal conferences and throughout the proposal process
• Reviews submitals, shop drawings and all documentation for compliance with project requirements and TCCD Design Guidelines and Standards
• Assists with job cost control to achieve best cost, quality and schedule
• Coordinates with project stakeholders and end‐users on an ongoing basis
• Coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies
• Reviews projects and contracts for compliance and takes appropriate actions to resolve discrepancies
• Coordinates with senior level staff in the development and incorporation of design standards, administrative procedures and educational specification standards into the program
• Acts as the liaison with construction management firms; oversees their performance and coordinates their services
• Initiates payments and correspondence related to facilities projects
• Works with campus leadership, directors of facilities, legal counsel, insurance representatives, architects, engineers, contractors, vendors in coordinating and insuring the quality of construction and renovation projects
• Participates in project progress meetings and contributes to progress reports which may or may not be required for submission to the Board of Trustees.
• Prepares ongoing design and construction project narratives, spreadsheets and/or presentations
• Reviews, processes and maintains construction project contracts
• Verifies and enforces contractual liability requirements set forth by the College
• Insures adherence to College specifications, policies, and procedures regarding process and reporting of design and construction activities of the College
• Supports the development of the College’s annual budget and capital improvement plan
• Oversees consultants developing master drawings of all disciplines for all facilities in the district
• Provides needed information to consultants for the development of master drawings
• Maintains AutoCAD/ BIM Standards to be followed by design consultants and in-house design staff
• Maintains documents and project information up to date using Ebuilder, Vault, TMA, Colleague and Datatel
• Reviews Facilities Project Management weekly agenda, compares with previous agenda in order to track down progress of all projects. Finds projects’ record drawings on eBuilder and update master drawings.
• Reviews design and record drawings when received from consultants for correctness of information and compliance with graphics standards
• Responsible for the upkeep of all architectural, furniture, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil and all utility plans for the District by updating new construction projects on master plans using record drawings provided by the Construction Services Department after in-house designed projects are completed
• Supports various directors throughout the District with drawings for planning purposes and updates to utility plans
• Assists the Cad Department with the production of construction documents for internal construction projects when necessary.
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Associate’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field from a regionally accredited college or university and three (3) years of direct experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and related experience
• Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance
• Proficiency with Microsoft and Excel software products including the use of spreadsheets and presentation software

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field from a regionally accredited college or university
• Four (4) (or more) years of experience in Commercial Construction and higher education design and construction project management
• Experience in value engineering /estimating /construction cost
• Experience with Revit and/or other 3‐D building modeling
• Experience and proficient with AutoCad software
• Project experience includes building design and renovation experience, as well as interior design

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

• Demonstrated knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field
• Knowledge and experience in architectural, engineering and construction documentation
• Ability to write reports, process manuals and handbooks and organize data into useful output
• Experience with computerized systems including word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
