Program Director 1 - (STA006392)



Directs an ongoing university program to ensure that prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with its mission and/or specified objectives. Prepares short- and long-term goals and objectives.

  1. Plans, develops and administers methods, strategies and procedures for meeting program objectives; directs and oversees the daily activities of staff members.
  2. Prepares and monitors the annual budget and ensures that expenditures are within budget allocation.
  3. Directs and coordinates personally, or through subordinate personnel, activities concerned with carrying out the objectives of the program.
  4. Directs the preparation of and reviews reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objectives; modifies or changes methodology as required to redirect activities and attains objectives.
  5. Analyzes trends within program areas, maintaining expert awareness of program information and change needs.
  6. Formulates, implements, and maintains appropriate policies and procedures concerning program administration.
  7. Manages and administers grant for program, including meetings, communication coordination, scholarships and other operations.
  8. May prepare or participate in the preparation of proposals to obtain grants from state and federal agencies, and private foundation sponsors.
  9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

The project director will report to the PI. This position will be responsible for recruiting and assisting first year college students and their families with college readiness, supportive and instructional services to improve placement, persistence, and retention in post-secondary education including:

-Oversite and monitoring of Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) goals and program growth data;
-Oversite of Student services;
-Oversite of CAMP management;
-Personal, academic, career, economic student education, or personal finances;
-Tutoring and academic skill-building;
-Assistance with special admissions; health services, and other services as necessary to assist students completing program requirements;
-Administer the project, supervise all personnel and supervise services that must be provided to students;
-Monitor progress towards objectives;
-Monitor compliance with federal and university regulations;
-Coordinate STEM partnership;
-Prepares, maintains, and monitors program/project budget;
-Implements grant goals and objectives;
- Investigates grant opportunities and drafts proposals and applications.
-Develops long and short term program goals. -----Represents program/project in official functions, attends meetings, conferences, and seminars related to the program's mission and goal;
-Supervises and organizes collaborators, seminars, conferences, and presentations.
-Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal/external departments/agencies and other organizations associated with and/or receiving benefit from the program.

Qualifications :

Bachelors and 3 years experience

Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Have at least three years of experience working with the target population, and hold a Bachelor's degree (preferred in counseling, education, social work, or related social science field that reflects applicable knowledge, skills, and educational competencies; or equivalent experience); or a Bachelor's degree with an extensive working experience assisting migrant and seasonal farmworkers and members of their immediate families in partnership between schools, local education agencies, state education agencies, businesses, and institutions of higher education to expose students to student financial aid, and careers in the STEM fields.
