Job Title: Lab Coordinator & Technician (Part-time) Job Summary:

The Lab Coordinator and Technician should have broad background and experience in Electrical, Computer, and Robotics Engineering to support the safe and smooth operations in the ECE Department. They need to be familiar with the equipment and devices used in ECE labs to support students and faculty on various projects. 

Duties/Physical Demands:

• Work with chair and faculty to ensure smooth and safe operation of all teaching and research laboratories.
• Purchase, upgrade, maintain and dispose equipment; maintain an inventory of spare parts and normal laboratory supplies.
• Identify and correct safety concerns.
• Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe environment in all laboratories and storage areas. Coordinate with faculty on monitoring student activities in the laboratories and on supervising student laboratory assistants.
• Support faculty’s research activities and students’ projects on their component, equipment and logistics needs
• Help the department to conduct lab tours and demonstrations
• Serve as a point of contact or liaison where appropriate.
• Carry out activities to improve the lab facilities and to meet department needs as determined by the ECE chair.

Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. in Electrical, Computer or Robotics Engineering or a closely related field by date of appointment.

This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.)

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with a Master degree.
