Position Summary:

The Accounting and Information Systems Department in the Wisconsin School of Business seeks a Full or Associate Professor in the field of Accounting. The position would be responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate students in Accounting and Information Systems or related field at the Wisconsin School of Business, conducting scholarly research and performing university service.

The Accounting Department is rated among the top programs in the country for undergraduate programs. The Chronicles of Higher Education recently ranked Wisconsin Accounting at the #1 position in its study of scholarly productivity in the discipline on a per-faculty member basis. Public Accounting Reports ranked our programs very highly. The department continues to lead the nation on the number of interns we place at the Financial Accounting Standards Board, and we continue to be in the top set of schools on CPA exam first time pass rates. We are also proud to be part of a great university with excellent resources available to both faculty and students. The Wisconsin School of Business offers degrees in Accounting at the undergraduate, master's (IMAcc & GMAcc), and PhD level. The School currently enrolls approximately 1800 undergraduates (sophomore/junior/senior level), 400 masters, and 60 PhD students

Principal Duties:

-Create and maintain a strong program of research.
-Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Wisconsin School of Business.
-Provide classroom and individual instruction for undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students.
-Contribute to the intellectual and academic life of the department. University and community service will be expected as appropriate.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Ph.D. in Accounting or related field required by start date. Preferred research and/or teaching interest in managerial accounting.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Well qualified applicants will have demonstrated high quality research with publications in top tier journals, and will have demonstrated excellence in teaching. Candidates will possess academic credentials to qualify for a tenured faculty appointment at UW-Madison.
