Position Summary:

This position will work closely with the neuroendovascular service, neurosurgery attending and neurosurgery clinical research team on a variety of clinical research projects. This position will be highly involved in cerebrovascular translational research and will be involved in the translation of the research to patients in the emergent setting.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

-Master's Degree required, preferably in Neuroscience and Neurobiology or related field.
-PhD or MD in Neurosurgery, Neuroscience, or related field preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

-At least 2 years of neurological diseases research or related experience required.
-Experience with cerebrovascular anatomic research and its relationship to clinical disease required.
-Strong experience in medical procedures and decision making highly desired.

Knowledge/Skills Required:
-Knowledge of Neurosurgery research principles and regulations.
-Experience managing Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols.
-Experience with cerebrovascular anatomic research and its relationship to clinical disease.

-Strong experience in medical procedures and decision making highly desired.

-Occasional evening and weekend call work as needed.

-Must be able to travel locally to Madison area study sites to conduct study-related activities and occasionally travel in the region to partnering study locations. Must provide own transportation or a valid driver's license and eligibility for Car Fleet usage is necessary.

To qualify to use a UW vehicle, must have a valid driver's license (driving record will be checked initially and routinely), and meet the UW Risk Management Driving Authorization and Car Fleet requirements and eligibility.

Occasional air travel to national conferences and meeting as needed.
