***THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION***
Lab TAs for Fundamentals of Biology 11900 assist instructors in running the lab and answering student questions. Laboratory Teaching Assistant for the Fundamentals of Biology 11900 course attend weekly laboratory meetings and support the laboratory instructor as s/he leads students through the laboratory exercise. During lab teaching assistants answer students’ questions, model techniques, enforce lab safety policies, moderate student discussions, answer questions about assignments, prepare some materials to be used during lab, and assist in resetting the lab for the next class. Teaching assistants prepare for the lab each week by reading the lab handout and associated readings and attending a weekly lab-prep meeting with the course instructor. Teaching assistants may also meet outside of lab time with students to offer extra help and hold review sessions or open lab hours.
Preference given to students who have been awarded Federal Work Study.
