The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, an NCAA DI/FCS and member of the Southern Conference is looking for an Assistant Athletic Trainer.




Responsibilities include:

Primary Athletic Trainer for Women's Basketball; Insurance Coordinator for student athletes; Works in conjunction with the Medical Director, Team Physicians and Director of Sports Medicine to provide healthcare for student-athletes; Maintains medical records in Electronic Medical Records Injury Tracking System; Clinical Preceptor of GATEP students/undergraduate intern students; Assists with maintenance of department policies and procedures as assigned by Director of Sports Medicine.




The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills

  • Must be computer proficient

Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree; certification by the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification (NATABOC); active membership in the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA); First Aid and CPR certification; and State of Tennessee athletic training license or eligible for such. Must have a valid driver's license.




Preferred Qualifications: Masters' degree in Athletic Training or related field; 1-2 years' experience as a certified athletic trainer at FCS Division 1 level; knowledge of Sportware computer-based injury tracking software; knowledge of nutrition, strength & condition, and concussion protocols; commitment towards student-athlete welfare; commitment towards fiscal responsibility; and ability to provide strong leadership and direction for assigned administrative area of responsibility.
