Assistant Lecturer (holding the title of School Development Officer) in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 502220) (to commence as soon as possible for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Education, or a Bachelor's degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education or equivalent, with at least 3 years’ post-qualification teaching experience in primary and/or secondary schools. Professional knowledge of Chinese language education, assessment, and linguistics is an advantage. Those who are energetic, enthusiastic and willing to take initiative in providing quality research support service to investigators and other stakeholders are preferred.

The appointee will be responsible for providing school-based support for primary and/or secondary schools admitting non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students; collaborating with teachers in curriculum development, lesson planning and observation, post-lesson debriefing; developing pedagogical approaches to cater for the learning diversity of NCS students; promoting learning and teaching with assessment data; sharing at teacher professional development activities; conducting data analysis; writing research reports and resource packages; and performing other duties as assigned.
