Safety Officer I (Temporary)



Department: University Police

Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a temporary Safety Officer I in the University Police department.

The candidate would be expected to: patrol the interior and exterior of the residential halls as well as the parking lots and quad area, academic buildings, athletic buildings, the Library and other University facilities, and other areas of campus; and cover for dorm Safety Officers by checking student and visitor identifications and document non-residents to the building.

Required Degree, License or Certifications:
Valid Automobile Driver's License in your state of principal residence

Required Skills or Software:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Required Years of Experience: 1

Other Requirements:
Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to work overtime as needed. Must be able to respond to call-ins as needed.

Ability to maintain data manually and generate neat and accurate reports. Must be able to maintain composure and appropriate decorum during difficult situations.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a Class I, II, Park Ranger or Security Officer.
