Skidmore College invites applications from qualified individuals for the position of fulltime nurse practitioner/physician assistant in Student Health Services. Responsibilities include, among others, the physical and emotional assessment of Skidmore College students and campus summer program participants, provision of direct quality clinical care including initiating therapeutic treatment and preventive services, after hours “on call” coverage, and provision of instruction and counseling to students and employees in the areas of health promotion and wellness.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications include: Nurse Practitioner-Master’s degree in nursing and current license to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner in New York State along with a minimum of two years of clinical practice experience as a NP/PA in an ambulatory care, outpatient/community health care and /or Medical/Surgical setting. National FNP certification preferred. Physician Assistant-registration as a physician assistant in a college/university or public/out-patient/community health care setting. Experience with an understanding of health issues affecting the college-age population preferred. Strong clinical skills, with knowledge of contemporary health trends and modern medical practice.
