Job Summary

The Department of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering (ECEE) encourages applications for a Student Services & Scheduling Coordinator ! This position will implement strategies that are crafted to assist ECEE students and faculty regarding courses and course enrollment. The primary responsibilities are to maintain the curriculum, input the course information each semester, and attend curriculum meetings to facilitate changes to the ECEE curriculum. This position will provide support to students that need help with enrollment issues and will assist faculty with grade changes. This position will also serve as the assistant to the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Education assisting in implementation of large-scale undergraduate program changes as desired by the Associate Chair and department as well as assisting in the ABET accreditation process. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required within three (3) days of hire.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Academic Scheduling Liaison
  • Assist the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Education supporting the implementation of large scale undergraduate program changes.
  • Meet with Chair, Associate Chair, and Curriculum Committee to plan each session/semester and project enrollment numbers. Take official notes and archive for the ABET process.
  • Attend campus, college, and department meetings concerning academic scheduling and registration. Stay ahead of changes to the Academic Scheduling process as set forth by the Academic Scheduling unit in the Office of the Registrar.
  • Monitor and update course enrollments, and recommend when to add class sections or move a class.
  • Manage course revision and course proposal process for undergraduate and graduate courses and working with Curriculum Committee for undergraduate courses.
  • Work with faculty and the Curriculum Committee to update the University course catalog annually.
  • Maintain shared course schedule and website curriculum pages.
  • Set-up courses in the university course scheduling system for summer, fall, and spring terms.
  • Keep historical data on classroom usage, courses offered, and other course information and provide analytics.
  • Schedule rooms for ad-hoc academic events (review sessions, course skills training, etc.) as requested by individual faculty.
  • Communicate course schedules with all partners.

Course Support Coordination
  • Coordinate student course support for all ECEE courses: e.g. TA’s, LA’s, SAs, graders, etc.
  • Recruit graduate and undergraduate students seeking to act as teaching or hourly assistants for all courses.
  • Pull reports as requested by the advisors (e.g. the Post-Enrollment Requirement Checking -PERC, etc) and assist with completion and submission.
  • Maintain information on abilities and prior performance through faculty feedback.
  • Compile a database of course syllabi for ABET process and reference for advisors.

Enrollment and Student Services
  • Provide support to students who need assistance with course overrides and dropping a course.
  • Make adjustments to student enrollment permissions, add/drop/wait-list status, and pre-requisite overrides; Respond to enrollment requests from faculty and administrators.
  • Send out email communications to students as requested by the student advisors and the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Education.

Department Evaluation & Improvement & ABET
  • Serve as ECEE FCQ Coordinator, ensuring online vs. paper FCQ delegations are made according to faculty wants/needs.
  • Maintain online files for all FCQ results.
  • Pull FCQ information as requested by the department chair for faculty comprehensive reviews.
  • Assist Associate Chair for Undergraduate Education with ABET accreditation process; updating/collecting relevant department information, collecting data/statistics, etc., as deemed appropriate by the Associate Chair.


What We Can Offer

Anticipated salary range is $47,000-$53,000, commensurate with experience.

What We Require

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

What You Will Need

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collect and present clear data and explain processes to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to work independently as well as on a team.
  • Sensitivity to and appreciation of cultural, political, and geographical differences, with the ability to work well with faculty, staff, and students from around the world.


What We Would Like You To Have

  • One year of professional-level work experience.
  • One year experience with the University's student information system (CU-SIS) and course scheduling system (Campus Solutions).
  • Knowledge of the ECEE department’s curriculum or similar curriculum in other institutions.
