West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Pediatric Neuropsychologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of Pediatric Neuropsychology. Clinical responsibilities focus on neuropsychological evaluations of a rich variety of developmental, neurological, neurosurgical, medical and psychiatric populations. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications: Applicants must have completed an APA/CPA accredited clinical psychology graduate program, with an APA/CPA accredited internship with a neuropsychology focus, and a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology. Applicants must be eligible to sit for ABPP in clinical neuropsychology. A focus on pediatric clinical neuropsychology is necessary.. Immediate eligibility for licensure in West Virginia is required. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

With an anticipated opening of early 2021, our new 150 bed Children’s Hospital and Women’s Pavilion will have a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital will include 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 31 PICU beds, Heart Institute, and a dedicated Cancer Institute. WVU Medicine Children’s is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. The Women’s Pavilion will house a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic. J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.

WVU Medicine Children’s is addressing the growing need for pediatric neurodevelopmental services with a new Neurodevelopmental Center. The experts at the multidisciplinary center provide diagnostic and medical management and outpatient services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and intensive applied behavior analysis therapy. The WVU Medicine Children’s Neurodevelopmental Center multidisciplinary team aims to treat the whole child while focusing on his or her individual needs and improving the child’s function and helping him or her to be more successful in school, the community, and home.
