Registered Nurse, University Health Services

The Registered Nurse supports the University Health Services providers and staff, as well as UTC students, faculty, and staff, by promoting health and wellness and support for acute and chronic illnesses.

Duties include: provide direct nursing care; assist providers with medical procedures; triage and schedule patients; return phone calls; obtain labs ordered by providers and notify patients of the results when appropriate; call in medications and refills when directed by providers; oversight of immunization compliance; responsible for Nursing Protocols; electronic medical record super user; manage health science program requirements; manage travel health and international student requirements; support for new student orientation and health promotion activities with other campus and community partners; cross train for front desk relief; and mentor students who are at University Health Services for clinical rotations.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Nursing; minimum of 1 year of experience as a nurse in either primary or acute care; experience with phlebotomy, injections, and starting IVs; hold a current, unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the state of Tennessee or Compact State; and current BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an emergency room, school health, or urgent care nurse.
