The Data Science and Data Analytics programs of the College of Sciences and Humanities at Ball State University welcome applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2021.
Primary responsibility will be teaching for the interdisciplinary on-line Master of Science in Data Science program. Other teaching responsibilities will include on-line and on-campus courses in the forthcoming undergraduate program in Data Analytics and /or courses in the home department of the primary specialty field within the College of Sciences and Humanities.

Description
The primary teaching assignments will be with the online graduate program in Data Science and the forthcoming undergraduate program in Data Analytics during the academic year.
Additional courses for the undergraduate curriculum in Data Analytics and/or within the specialty area of the candidate are possible and may be offered online and/or on-campus.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree conferred by date of appointment in data science, data analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, geography-geographic information science, informatics, or related fields.
Authorization to work in the US
Employer will consider sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in data science, data analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, geography-geographic information science, informatics, or any related field that utilizes “big data”.
Experience teaching advanced statistics, computer science and/or data science classes is highly desirable, as is experience with programming languages related to statistics such as R, SAS and/or Python.
Additional knowledge on data science and analytics applications to environmental sciences, bioinformatics, social sciences, health sciences and/or data visualization.
Experience in online instruction.
