Teach 2 sections of introductory biology labs each semester and complete assigned grading within the scheduled time frame. Carry out additional duties as assigned, including but not limited to teaching a third introductory biology lab section, leading a discussion section with supervising faculty, working with supervising faculty to assist in the teaching of upper level laboratories, participate in laboratory preparation for upper level labs with supervising faculty. Meet with faculty mentor weekly.
Must be accepted to UWL graduate program
Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA throughout graduate assistantship
Completion (or concurrent enrollment in) Biology 732
Must show sufficient aptitude for teaching based on SEIs and classroom observations
Must complete all application materials including a teaching philosophy
Must demonstrate adequate progress towards degree completion
Must have served as a UWL Biology Department GA previously
Standing/walking in lab for at least 2 hours per lab.
