A postdoctoral fellow is required to work on several NIH, NSF and internally funded research projectds in the laboratory of Dr. Buck in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at VCU . The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on several projects related to COVID -19 infection and the human microbiome and virome. Projects involve informatic processing and analysis of multi omic data related to the microboiome and virome of the female reproductive tract, GI tract and upper respiratory tract. Highly motivated, hard-working and informatically skilled applicants are encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD in a related field, have computational and informatics skills, and an in depth understanding of molecular analyses.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in manipulation of high throughput biological sequence (protein, RNA and/or DNA ) data
