California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Seeking Director of Professional Services Division
The Commission on Teacher Credentialing seeks an experienced leader to serve as the Director of its’ Professional Services Division. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have excellent communications skills, be adept at working in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy working in a highly collaborative and functional team. The ideal candidate will also have a passion for fostering equity and access to a high-quality education for all children and an understanding of the role of educators and educator preparation programs in ensuring equitable learning opportunities. This individual will oversee the development of standards and performance expectations that drive the preparation of teachers, school administrators, counselors, school psychologists, social workers, librarians and school nurses.
The Commission on Teacher Credentialing is an independent standards board for the education profession in California charged with setting standards for the preparation and licensure of educators, accrediting institutions that prepare educators for service in the public schools (PreK through grade 12 and adult education), issuing credentials to individuals who have met requirements, and taking disciplinary action against teachers who have engaged in misconduct. The Professional Services Division is one of five divisions in the agency, and is responsible for standards development, accreditation, standardized examinations, data collection and reporting, and management of teacher recruitment and development grant programs.
