The American College of Financial Services (The College), a regionally accredited and nonprofit higher education institution located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, supports the financial services industry through professional education, graduate studies, relevant research, and customized learning solutions.

 

The Program Director oversees the curriculum for the Masters of Science in Financial Services (MSFS) graduate degree program; and serves as a subject matter expert in the area of developing online content related to sophisticated planning techniques in financial services with a general mastery of investments, tax planning, risk management, retirement planning, estate planning and insurance.  Reporting to the Associate Provost, the successful incumbent is the primary academic expert on the programmatic content; and maintains network of programmatic connections through personal network, professional associations, research, thought leadership, public speaking, and board service.

 

This position has overall responsibility for creating, managing and marketing the MSFS program; as well as the continuing development of academic programs and teaching assigned courses; and ensuring delivery of the highest quality professional and advanced education programs and services to The College’s students. The Program Director will serve as the leader to the program faculty and Instructional Design teams in developing advanced and sophisticated online delivery of program content. The American College is a leader in financial planning education and the Program Director will have a strong interest in maintaining the quality and relevance of our remotely delivered courses.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

Evaluate the quality of online, remote, and traditionally delivered coursework, maintain course content, and improve student-learning outcomes Serve as the champion for the MSFS designation program. Monitor the education needs of the nonprofit gift planners and professional advisors related to sophisticated financial planning techniques related to MSFS and collaboration across the disciplines Actively seek out feedback from client companies, industry experts, and internal college stakeholders Identify ways to market the program to a broad advisory audience and oversee execution of the program-marketing plan, collaborating as necessary with the Marketing team Maintain a visible profile in the relevant professional associations QUALIFICATIONS General and business knowledge equivalent to a Master’s degree in Education, Psychology or Business (MBA/PhD preferred) with 6 - 8 years of progressive experiences in student-facing functions Must be able to travel to industry and college events, in-person review instruction, and occasional course instruction through webinars Must be able to work effectively as a member of The College’s senior leadership team, the Board of Trustees, and the faculty; and to represent The College to the industry, the public and accreditation agency representatives Ability to maintain and grow a network of professionals and utilize that network to enhance programmatic offerings
