Responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks that facilitate the HR/Payroll related day-to-day operations of the College. Oversees weekly and semi-monthly payroll for ~700 college employees including RAP and PAM forms and personnel data entry requirements. Resolves HR-related problems, maintains HR files and databases and recommends workflow improvements. Maintains knowledge of college, university, state and federal policies and requirements. Liaison with HR/Payroll.

This is an annual (calendar year) part time position, approximately 30 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with one (1) plus years’ experience in payroll, preferably in a higher education setting.

Job Specific Qualifications

• Microsoft tools (excel & word), PeopleSoft experience preferred, deadline oriented, attention to detail, data entry experience, strong inter-personal skills and has the capability to manage confidential data.

Responsibilities

• Process student and temporary employee hire requests. This includes managing the Handshake process for student positions, requesting PINs, submitting information to HR and communicating with units when hiring is complete.

• Process annual faculty stipends, summer administrative payments, and other additional payment requests.

• Resolves HR- and payroll-related problems.

• Recommends improvements to payroll related workflow within Office of Budget and Operations.

• Maintains an awareness of Federal, State, and University HR and payroll related issues.

• Acts as resource for college faculty and staff regarding HR and payroll processes.

• Monitor weekly time sheets, contract pay details and other reports as needed to ensure accuracy and employees are being paid on time and correctly.

• Other duties as assigned.
