The Department of Behavior Analysis in the College of Natural, Behavioral, and Health Science (CNBHS) invites applications for a 12-month, non-tenure track, Associate Professor of Practice/Supervised Fieldwork Director of Behavior Analysis (“Director”) within our online Master's degree program BehaviorAnalysis@Simmons, BA@S to begin July 1, 2021. Remote applicants will be considered.

We seek innovative educators and scholars with a demonstrated excellence in teaching, creative curriculum development, a knowledge of the challenges confronting Behavior Analysts today, and a commitment to supporting practicum placements. This position is fully dedicated to supporting BA@S practicum/fieldwork courses and coordinating compliance with the upcoming BACB supervised fieldwork changes effective in 2022.

Responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing student and supervisor orientation, student registration, as well as placement and student assessment. The successful candidate will coordinate supervisory services provided by both 1:1 and group mentors to ensure procedural integrity and compliance with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board's supervised experience standards. Each experiential learning course is overseen by a senior mentor/university that reports to the Director. Additionally, the Director will mentor students in 1:1 and group settings. A reduced teaching course load may be assigned.

Upon hire, the Director will be expected to complete the Simmons University supervision training, maintain BACB® and Simmons University standards for supervision and obtain or maintain licensure as a behavior analyst as applicable.

Qualifications include:
  • Master's degree in Behavior Analysis or closely related field required, PhD preferred;
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®) in good standing;
  • Meets Behavior Analysis Certification Board standards for providing supervision;
  • Licensed as a Behavior Analyst in Massachusetts or assigned geographic region (preferred) or licensure eligible (required) in assigned geographic region;
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience providing supervision to students seeking Board Certification and supervising BCBAs®;
  • A record of professional presentations and research publications preferred;
  • Ability to travel to Boston periodically.
