Salary for Announcement: The starting salary for this position is $80,900. The final salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Position Summary:
The Director of Innovative and Lifelong Learning (I&LL) will lead the successful implementation of MSU Denver's extended academic programming. Working collaboratively with I&LL staff, faculty, academic leadership, administrative and budget leadership, and the Center for Teaching Learning and Technology, the Director provides strategic leadership and day-to-day administrative management of the South Campus, staff, and academic offerings
Duties/Responsibilities:
Staff supervision and development (20%)
Manage staff and workflow activities within the unit
• Supervise staff, monitor progress, and ensure quality work
• Identify any issues or concerns early and develop clear plans to resolve
• Co-create performance goals and project deadlines that align with the unit’s strategic goals
• Provide professional development opportunities to staff and work with staff to ensure growth and development
Financial management (30%)
• Directs the planning and development of operating budget
• Oversees financial health of the unit in collaboration with the AVP
• Strategizes and plan for financial targets
• Prepares financial statements, forecasts, and other related reports
• Performs research and analysis to evaluate programs and develop recommendations for more cost-effective operations
• Oversees all revenue and expenses
Internal operations (30%)
• Lead initiatives and efforts to ensure smooth running of all business operations
• Analyze office systems and processes to look at trends and identify areas for improvement
• Continuously assess unit to ensure best practices are followed in order to provide the highest client satisfaction
• Ensure that University policies are followed
• Optimize business workflows
• Identify patterns and problem areas and implement effective solutions to increase efficiency.
Senior-level partnership and project management (20%)
• Provide high-level team and project management duties, overseeing project completion deadlines, monitoring costs, and ensuring client needs are met
• Serve as key contact, in partnership with the AVP, in development of new, innovative educational offerings with internal and external clients
• Explores and develops new educational programs aimed at under-served populations, particularly focused don establishing awareness and an enrollment path to MSU Denver
• Represents MSU Denver at conferences, workshops, and special events
• Provides day-to-day oversight of all new programs launches
Required Qualifications:
• 5 years of experience supervising and managing staff
• 5 years of experience developing and maintaining complex budgets in a multi-faceted setting
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous work experience in a higher education setting
• Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
• Experience coaching, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality work
• People-oriented, flexible, and supportive
• Experience in supervisory and managerial role; demonstrated track record of successful people leadership
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
• Experience developing and launching programs
• Demonstrated experience in partnership development
• Must possess marketing and business acumen in targeting and launching new initiatives, and establishing profitability
• Experience collecting and analyzing data for program development and improvement
• Master’s degree in business, higher education, public administration or similar field from a regionally accredited university
• 3+ years experience managing partnerships and multi-faceted programs
