The Mary and Jeff Bell Library at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) invites applications for the position of I-Know Director. The I-Know Director will lead a Quality Enhancement Plan initiative designed to infuse digital information literacy into the academic careers of undergraduate students. Under the direction of the Dean of Libraries, the I-Know Director provides leadership and guidance to faculty, staff, and students to facilitate the integration of digital information literacy into the undergraduate curriculum at TAMUCC. The Director is responsible for planning, facilitating, and implementing all aspects of the I-Know initiative. This position manages the execution, documentation, and reporting requirements of a Quality Enhancement Plan and ensures alignment with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) standards. Faculty rank and tenure status is open and will be determined upon qualifications.

  • Work with faculty, administration, staff, and students to ensure successful implementation of the I-Know initiative
  • Foster an environment of collaboration, working with all stakeholders on the design of new policies, procedures, and professional development activities necessary to achieve the I-Know goals
  • Maintain alliances with key campus partners, including the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) and the Office of Distance Education and Learning Technologies (ODELT), necessary for success
  • Build relationships across campus units to promote participation throughout the University community
  • Coordinate professional development, in collaboration with the CFE and ODELT, for faculty to incorporate digital information literacy into courses
  • Develop and manage the I-Know assessment plan
  • Prepare results and findings for annual institutional progress reports and a five-year SACSCOC evaluation report
  • Ensure campus awareness and support of the I-Know program through various communication and marketing channels, such as the I-Know website
  • Maintain the requirements for scholarship and service as commensurate with position and rank.
  • Possibility of a teaching appointment

The Mary and Jeff Bell Library provides resources and services to assist users with their research and information needs. Over ½ million items are listed in Portal, the online catalog, and many more items are accessible through our electronic resources. Over 280 online databases and 64,000 electronic journals contain scholarly material to assist students in completing research projects or assignments. The Library provides both in-person and virtual reference service, research skills and information literacy instruction, interlibrary loan, a media lab, and over 100 computers for research and coursework. Special Collections and Archives houses a wealth of resources focusing on Corpus Christi, the Coastal Bend, and South Texas.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • Professional development, instructional, training, or teaching experience
  • Familiarity with information literacy and/or digital literacy
  • Record of demonstrated leadership or successful project management in higher education, including student engagement and success
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with multiple audiences

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree
  • Experience with teaching information and/or digital literacy
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design
  • Experience with the development of assessment plans, curriculum development, and/or curriculum mapping
  • Supervisory experience
