Thiel College seeks a vibrant faculty member for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Biology with a focus on Immunology, commencing August 2021.

A dedicated passion for helping students reach their full potential in a supportive and inclusive learning environment is essential to this position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness and support of undergraduate research projects and familiarity with inclusive pedagogy in the sciences. Teaching responsibility include courses in Immunology, General Parasitology, Cell Biology and Foundational Biology, as well as participation in the College’s liberal arts core curriculum. Preference will be given to those applicants that can also teach Microbiology. Faculty carry 24 credit hours per academic year and share responsibility for the curriculum and programs of their academic departments.

Thiel faculty advance by demonstrating excellence in teaching, advising, and guiding students in the discipline. Effective teaching is given the highest priority, and support is provided for faculty to remain current in their field through professional development opportunities such as attendance at related conferences, research or other scholarly activities. The College provides a comprehensive employee benefit package, including research support and a sabbatical program. A Ph.D. is required; ABD candidates will be considered if the defense of the degree is imminent.
