Summary

Under the supervision of the PI, the RT I will design and conduct experiments to determine the mechanisms of neonatal lung injury and repair. Experience in handling mice and maintaining mouse colonies will be very useful. Experience in routine molecular biology techniques (Western blotting, genotyping, RT-PCR) will be required. Experience in primary cell culture will be considered favorably.

Job Duties
  • Conduct experiments to determine the mechanisms of neonatal lung injury under hyperoxic conditions and specifically look into sex-biased differences.
  • Breed and maintain mouse colonies, and expose mice or rats to hyperoxia.
  • Lung histology and immunohistochemistry, as well as morphometry.
  • Conduct molecular assays such as real time RT-PCR, genotyping, chromatin immunprecipitation (ChIP), Western blotting etc.
  • Conduct cell culture experiments as needed.
  • Analyze the data, and prepare figures for manuscript preparation, poster preparation, and grant applications.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Experience Required: One year of relevant experience.
