General Summary/Purpose

The Division of Transplant Oncology and Infectious Diseases is seeking a full time Research Data Analyst to work with our clinical research coordinating center. Under the supervision of the Research Nurse Manager and Principle Investigator the programmer will collaborate on grant- funded and pharmaceutically funded National, International, and site specific research projects primarily focused on utilizing novel organ sources to address the organ shortage in the United States.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the clinical team design, build, and maintain databases, records and files.
  • Develop data analysis methodologies, including defining in detail data requirements, data sources, and proper data analysis procedures
  • Collaborate with statisticians, epidemiologists, social scientists, and clinicians in drafting of statistical design, methods, and analysis sections for reports, scientific papers, and grant proposals.
  • Conduct statistical analyses using standard statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, STATA).
  • Design and prepare tables and figures to illustrate analytic findings.
  • Generate reports and create presentations for regulatory committees.
  • Design and generate data management and quality reports as requested.
  • Present and interpret data at meeting with leaders of key internal and external projects.
  • Serve as a resource for research and operational staff regarding data issues.
  • Participate in data collection and data entry on assigned studies.
  • May contribute to the writing sections of manuscripts and publications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, computer science, epidemiology, statistics, demography or a related scientific field is required.
  • Three years of related experience required.
  • Strong quantitative skills, experience with data management, and applied data analysis is required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Experience with database design and development i.e., REDCap preferred.

Additional education (Master's level) may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

JHU Equivalency Formula:

18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.

For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
