Position Summary:

The ACRES Project Coordinator will be responsible for participant recruitment and consent, scheduling coaching and observation sessions with participants, interviewing participants, arranging for fidelity checks, implementing training workshops, managing the coders' schedules and training participants to use the iPads to record their own teaching. In this role the project coordinator will also assist in the collection and analysis of formative and summative assessment data over the course of the 4-year project.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's required, Master's or PhD preferred, in special education, teacher education, or a related field

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required:
Experience collecting qualitative or quantitiative data for academic research
Experience teaching or coaching adult learners
Knowledge of special education best practices related to engagement or classroom management

Preferred:
Experience working in PK-12 schools
Experience or familiarity with issues affecting rural schools
Experience managing teams and/or research projects
Familiarity with research software (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS, NVivo)

Additional Information:

Addressing Emergency Certification in Rural Education Settings (Project ACRES) is a Development and Innovation project within the topic area of Professional Development for Educators and School-Based Service Providers. Project ACRES will develop, revise, document the feasibility and usability, and test the promise of a multicomponent professional development (PD) intervention to address pressing needs of emergency certified special educators working in rural schools.
