Position Summary

As part of the Pathways to Opportunity initiative, Portland Community College is searching for student-centered change agents to apply for our new Community Resources Coordinator position. The Community Resources Coordinator is responsible for coordinating efforts to connect low-income students to benefits and services that can increase their college access and completion. Under the guidance of management, and in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, the Coordinator develops programs to equitably connect students to benefits, supporting College-wide program implementation and ongoing improvement. Incumbent will have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and an understanding of how race, socio-economic status, gender, and other elements of an individual’s identity impact their experiences and opportunities.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex programs in collaboration with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience designing programs or services to increase student success or economic mobility
  • Demonstrated commitment to, and understanding of racial justice, social justice, poverty, inter-sectional identities, and the multiple disparate impacts of need on marginalized communities


Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, a Social Science discipline, or a related field
  • Three years of experience in an educational or training environment is required, to include experience working in program/division serving diverse populations
  • Two years of experience coordinating complex projects



Position Grade 4 Starting Salary Expectations $48,518 to $51,977 (Step 3); based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $48518 to $84135 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions.

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)
- Starts at 13.33 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of services)
- 1 day of sick leave per month
- 11 holidays
- 3 additional personal leave days per year

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is typically performed in an office environment. Incumbents may regularly drive between campuses, and remote sites, requiring the ability to drive and use of a personal vehicle. Physical exertion is not a normal requirement of this job. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. Background Check Required Yes
