Position Summary

The School of Architecture and Planning at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York ( SUNY ), invites candidates who can enthusiastically inspire and engage architecture and planning students to learn by doing at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Candidates should have the ability to teach seated or online courses in architecture, planning, real estate development, and design-related disciplines or conduct research/service in support of the mission and vision of the school.

Essential Functions:
• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of subject
• Provides students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in assigned subject(s)
• Evaluates students’ performance and provide effective feedback to guide student learning and success
• Responsible for contributing to and maintaining an inclusive and collaborative environment
• Ability to conduct research or service in support of the mission and vision of the school

About the School:
The University at Buffalo’s School of Architecture and Planning is the only school of architecture and planning within the 64-campus State University of New York ( SUNY ) system. The school offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design, Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Master of Urban Planning, Master of Architecture, Master of Science in Architecture, and Master of Science in Real Estate Development, and PhD in Urban Planning. Minimum Qualifications

For Architecture instructors: Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field or extensive professional experience

For Urban and Regional Planning instructors: Master’s degree in urban planning or related field

Preferred Qualifications

PhD preferred for doctoral-level courses.
