Provost

Perrotis College invites nominations and applications for the position of Provost who will  serve as the chief academic officer for the college (reporting directly to the President).

Perrotis College of Agriculture, Environment and Life Sciences is the higher education branch of the American Farm School (AFS), a not-for-profit US institution founded in 1904.

The Perrotis College of Agriculture, Environment & Life Sciences, was founded as a two year College in 1996 to offer higher education programs for careers in the food and agricultural industries.  In 2007, the College began offering B.Sc. degrees in Environmental Systems Management, Food Science and Technology, and International Business. Today, the College offers BSc degrees in five disciplines and three M.Sc. degrees and is undergoing evaluation by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), presently holding “candidacy” status for US accreditation.

As an institution of higher education, Perrotis College provides degree programs that are both research-based and practically oriented, and which respond to the public’s social, economic and environmental concerns, servicing students from rural and urban Greece, south-eastern Europe, the European Union, the United States and worldwide

Perrotis College’s Provost will promote the college externally, as well as, internally fostering a campus climate that is consistent with the college core values and vision, committed to the achievement of the college strategic plan and annual priorities.

As senior executive of the college, the Provost leads the Strategic Leadership Team and oversees all daily operations.  S/he oversees implementation of the academic plan and promotes academic excellence through collaboration, cooperation, and teamwork working with the academic deans, faculty, staff, and actively seeks student input as appropriate.

Understands and is committed to the tri-partite mission of a modern and innovative college of agriculture, environment, and life sciences;  

Assigns priorities leading the college towards the pursuit of its mission as well as  the successful accreditation of the college;   

Advocates cultural and organizational change within the college to accomplish the college’s vision, fostering an agile organization easily adaptable to change;

Leads the college’s development efforts to fund programs and projects and actively contributes to enrollment as well as to the development and management of the college budget in alignment with the annual priorities and the strategic plan.
