The Purdue Systems Collaboratory and the College of Engineering at Purdue University invites applications for a full-time, Academic Year (9 month) position as a Lecturer beginning in January 2021.

The lecturer will become part of a vibrant, multi-disciplinary community of scholars who are committed to teaching students across all disciplines in the university the theoretical and practical approaches that are needed to understand, design, build, operate, and maintain next-generation complex systems effectively, thereby helping to address many of the societal grand challenges of the 21st century. They will have collaborative opportunities with educators in Purdue’s world-renowned Colleges, including Engineering, Management, Science, Health and Human Sciences, Pharmacy, Liberal Arts, and Agriculture.

The position of the visiting faculty includes the following duties:

  • Teaching upper division undergraduate courses and graduate courses in systems.
  • Holding office hours each week for students enrolled in courses taught.
  • Developing appropriate course syllabi for assigned classes.
  • Attending training and meetings as required by the course supervisor for a given course.
  • Assisting in the administration of Purdue Systems Collaboratory program as needed.

Candidates for the position must have completed a Ph.D. in a systems discipline or a related discipline

by the position start date. Experience teaching classes in systems, evidence of teaching effectiveness, experience teaching online; and significant non-academic workplace experience are preferred.
