Under general supervision directs and administers the activities of the Office of Student Financial Aid. Develops financial aid policies and procedures for the university. Ensures that adherence to NCAA rules compliance is addressed and carefully monitored.
Essential Duties Summary
• Develops institutional policy and procedure for all financial aid programs in accordance with program guidelines, rules and regulations.
• Secures adequate funding for all aid programs, which includes proposal writing and interaction with appropriate federal, state, and private authorities.
• Oversees the ongoing planning and evaluation of the financial aid program to ensure high quality and to implement needed improvements and refinements.
• Recruits, hires, and trains all professional staff for the office; establishes work priorities; provides technical direction and guidance to staff as needed.
• Represents the university to the federal government, state agencies and private donors.
• Sets award level commitments to maintain total awards to students within program allocations; makes final decision on all disputed areas of program operations.
• Responsible for ensuring that student athletes are not over awarded and that scholarships and other kinds of aid are within the guidelines set by NCAA as well as any federal guidelines.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
