Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The primary duties of the Landscape Crew Leader Zone 1 position is to be a crew leader for the landscaping of new areas and general grounds maintenance of assigned campus areas. The position performs skilled grounds maintenance including new landscaping, irrigation installation, edging, pruning, mowing, general manicuring of all university areas, parking lot maintenance, trash pick-up and other associated duties as determined by supervisor or administration. Position participates and/or lead crews in special event preparation such as for chancellor installation, preparing for new academic year, visitation of special guests and other events as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency and demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires North Carolina Pesticide License.

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

Completion of grammar school and one year related experience

Required Certifications or licensure

Valid NC Driver’s License

NCDA Turf & Ornamental pesticide license
