About the College/Unit/Department
Founded in 2005, the College of Public Health is located on the University of Georgia’s Health Sciences Campus. The College consists of four departments and three specialized institutes. The Department is located in newly renovated facilities that house faculty, staff and students. The College of Public Health is actively engaged in community outreach activities. HPAM is a strong supporter of this College mission and the successful candidate will support these activities.

Position Summary
The Department of Health Policy and Management ( HPAM ) seeks candidates to fill a limited term assistant professor position in the clinical track. The Limited Term Clinical Assistant Professor position is a one year position with the possibility of extension by one additional year based on programmatic needs. The successful candidate will coordinate and teach courses in the Master of Health Administration ( MHA ) program as well as other related courses for graduate/undergraduate students in health care management and policy areas. It is expected that the faculty member will help coordinate the Master of Health Administration ( MHA ) program of the department, identify potential internships and residencies for MHA students, place students in internships and residencies, advise students, supervise residencies and capstone reports, maintain contacts with preceptors and teach graduate and undergraduate level courses in health care management and policy areas. Important to the position is active involvement transmitting knowledge and educating the next generation of public health professionals.
Additional Requirements
Candidates should hold a terminal degree, professional or academic, or a relevant master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPA ). Candidates without a terminal degree must document significant industry experience and exceptional accomplishments as a leader in the health care sector (e.g., being a leader in health care organizations as President, VP, CEO, CFO, etc.) and must be approved for a terminal degree exception before hire.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification
More than 10 years of professional work experience as health sector leaders managing various aspects of health sector such as health care finance, healthcare operations, quality management, health policy, human resources and/or marketing is required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Candidates must show evidence of ability to engage in effective teaching and service. Ideal candidates would have the ability to teach across programs.
