About the Opportunity:
For more information on the ALERT Center visiting:

Provide necessary administrative support and manage operational tasks for the ALERT (Awareness and Localization of Explosives-Related Threats) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Center of Excellence (COE), and its related DHS Task Order awards. Assist in maintaining ALERT Center databases, updating center outputs and personnel lists for annual and periodic reporting requirements, maintain distribution listservs, prepare minutes and correspondence, order supplies and catering, and process travel arrangements. Provide administrative support for the Center Directors, ALERT faculty and staff, including but not limited to, reviewing and editing reporting documentation for the ALERT Center and Task Order deliverables, researching and soliciting reporting data for inclusion in Center brochures, fact sheets, requests from DHS Program Management. Act as the front line to assist ALERT Center visitors, respond to telephone and email inquiries, as appropriate. As needed to support the ALERT Center deliverables, track and order supplies, maintain filing systems, manage the office calendars and room/equipment reservations, assist with special projects, and perform other related duties as assigned.

A Bachelor's Degree is required and an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is preferred. The incumbent must have strong written and oral communication skills. Must also be self-motivated, flexible, team-player who can succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The incumbent must be willing to pitch in as needed in a variety of administrative and event-based tasks. Must be able to meet deadlines and understand the importance of confidentiality when dealing with Center files and issues. The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks is strongly desired.
