The Department of Psychology at the University of Washington invites applicants to apply for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in developmental psychology. We seek candidates whose core training involves human development between preschool and adolescence. We are interested in candidates who combine the study of behavior with other cutting-edge methods or approaches, including development of diverse and underrepresented cultural groups, cross-cultural studies, neuroscience, behavioral genetics, or computational modeling of development. This position has an anticipated start date of September 16, 2021. Tenure-track or tenured faculty have an annual service period of nine months (Sept 16-June 15). Applicants will be expected to provide high quality teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate is expected to have or develop a record of high-quality publications, have or develop a funded research program, and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. Qualifications

The department is seeking candidates who have a strong commitment to promoting the success of students from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups in academia. Applicants should have the Ph.D. degree, or foreign equivalent, by the start of the appointment.

  

Applicant instructions

Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests, a statement of teaching interests, three letters of recommendation, a research sample of no more than two reprints or preprints, and a diversity statement of no more than 500 words. The diversity statement should address leadership, commitment, and experiences with diversity, equity, and inclusion.
