Job Description:

The Adjunct Instructor of Strength of Materials will be responsible to teach one or more sections of EGR264 (Strength of Materials) course for the Spring 2021 semester (February - May). This course studies the behavior of materials under normal, shear, torsional, bending and combined loads. The concepts of stress, strain, failure mechanisms and material properties are also explored in-depth. The course examines observed behavior of macroscopic properties of materials used in engineering applications. The loading, geometry, functional environment and material properties of machine or structural parts are used to relate the forces applied to a body to the resulting internal forces and deformations so that performance can be evaluated. Practical applications involving the design and adequacy of mechanical and structural elements under various loading and environmental conditions are emphasized. This course meets twice a week for 75 minutes.

Requirements:

A successful candidate will have a Master of Science degree or higher in an engineering field as well as either teaching experience, industrial experience, or both.
