(64262) Assistant Engineer - Florida Applied Research in Engineering (FLARE) Center
The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Engineer in the Florida Applied Research in Engineering (FLARE) Center, in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.
This position will develop and implement simulation and modeling in C++ using NVidia CUDA and develop, implement, optimize, and validate signal processing algorithms in embedded prototype hardware in support of radar, sonar, and other sensor technologies. This position will also support test automation, demonstration, and performance analysis of prototype sensors and develop data comparison and visualization tools for test and operation. In addition, the incumbent will assist the FLARE Director and associated program leads with strategic planning, identifying and prioritizing research needs, proposal development, and liaising with potential partners and stakeholders. This position will report to Richard Vigeant, Director of the Florida Applied Research in Engineering Center.

This position requires a PhD in a related field, applicants with a Masters in a related field and relevant experience may be considered. Expertise in the areas of application of analytical methods for transportation safety in rural areas and experience in working with small and rural agencies on safety planning is desired.
