Come join Portland Community College’s nationally recognized Online Learning program! We are looking for a dynamic instructional designer to join our online course development team to create high-quality online courses, promote quality instruction, and maintain our online course portfolio. In this role, you will work closely with faculty, multimedia and video producers, instructional technology specialists, and accessibility specialists to support the success of all our students. 1. Demonstrated experience working with faculty at the post secondary level designing and developing online courses and materials.
2. Demonstrated experience facilitating projects including communication, organization, problem-solving.
3. Experience with culturally responsive course design.
4. Demonstrated experience working both independently and as a contributing member of a team.
Also:
5. Ability to evaluate digital course materials and technologies for accessibility.
6. Experience with designing performance assessment.
7. Experience using the Quality Matters Rubric to develop, review, and/or improve course design and materials.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

  • Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Distance Education, Computer Science or a related field required. (experience performing the duties of this job may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis)
  • Demonstrated experience working with faculty at the post secondary level required (e.g. working in a role developing/instructing/training faculty members)
  • Must have experience in developing online classes and experience with multimedia development and production tools required
  • Creation of instructional material for the internet and familiarity with technologies as they relate to online learning and the internet is required


Position Grade 5 Starting Salary Expectations $55,550 to $59,504 (Step 3); based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $55550 to $96321 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)
- Starts at 13.33 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of services)
- 1 day of sick leave per month
- 11 holidays
- 3 additional personal leave days per year
