The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Lecturer. Duties include teaching and service, in particular areas related to the development of Japanese language and culture program. Expected to teach three courses per semester. Meet students for regular classroom instruction during the appointed times, order textbooks, provide syllabuses, final grades and assessments by published deadlines, hold office hours as appropriate, and respond to student inquiries within a reasonable amount of time, usually not to exceed 48 hours.

Requirements: M.A. degree or higher in Japanese language and culture or other relevant area, including second-language acquisition, linguistics, and Japanese language pedagogy. Other requirements include native or near-native proficiency in Japanese and English and at least 1 year of experience teaching Japanese language at a US college/university.

Compensation: Salary is competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a full benefits package.
