The Office of Strategic Engagement is seeking individuals to facilitate professional learning seminars and courses to promote diversity, inclusion and engagement through an antiracist lens that leads to transformative shifts in professional practice.The Professional Development facilitator will deliver engaging, relevant, and high–quality course content. The successful candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of the pedagogical practices that support a variety of learning modalities including face-to-face, technology-enhanced, blended, and online learning.

Duties:
Informed by a knowledge of current research and best practices in the area of racial equity, social justice, and culturally relevant pedagogy, the Professional Development Facilitator will deliver high quality instructional content for delivery in an online, blended, or face-to-face format. Essential duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
● provide instructional delivery for content and objectives related to specified professional learning topics
● deliver effective instructional lessons and presentations integrating audio and video scripts, reports, and course materials
● assist with the creation and refinement of course material for customized delivery
● evaluate outcomes for learning objectives, activities, and course content
● assist with the development of assessments to evaluate engagement and learning

Required Qualifications

- An advanced degree, or education and relevant experience that equates to an advanced degree in a discipline such as Curriculum Development, Organizational Development, Social Justice, Ethnic Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years experience instructing or facilitating training in an academic environment
- Ability to develop and deliver learning materials that are relevant, research-based, and interactive
- Online teaching experience in a college or university setting
- Experience using Blackboard, Canvas, Articulate 360, and/or Wordpress in educational settings
-Demonstrated experience working in fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so as an employee at VCU

Preferred Qualifications

- An advanced degree, or education and relevant experience that equates to an advanced degree in a discipline such as Curriculum Development, Organizational Development, Social Justice, Ethnic Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years experience instructing or facilitating training in an academic environment
- Ability to develop and deliver learning materials that are relevant, research-based, and interactive
- Online teaching experience in a college or university setting
- Experience using Blackboard, Canvas, Articulate 360, and/or Wordpress in educational settings

Session Objectives: 2-3 learning objectives
Session Materials: Powerpoint presentation (not to exceed 20 slides w/optional facilitator notes), required or recommended books, props, readings, etc. and related reflections questions for facilitated groups
Session Content: Summary of learning activities to engage learners in a 90-minute format (virtual or face-to face)
