Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (Ref.: 502109), to commence as soon as possible on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Bio-Engineering or related disciplines, with an excellent publication track record. They should be organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team; have demonstrated experience in high impact basic research and translational research; and have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese. Proficiency in machine learning, computer vision modelling and FEM would be an advantage.

The appointee will be leading small- and large-scale research studies from start to finish. He/She will closely work with clinicians, academic research and industrial partners; participate in cross-disciplinary and cross-institute collaborations; conduct high-impact research; write scientific publications and grant proposals; contribute to postgraduate and undergraduate teaching; and provide supervision and training for postgraduate students.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
