Assistant Professor - CHofSA Surgical - Congenital Heart Surgery
The Section of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine has an opening for a full-time faculty position at The Children's Hospital of San Antonio. This position comes with a faculty appointment, a competitive salary, and a full benefits package. The candidates' credentials and experience will determine the rank of the academic appointment.
Responsibilities include admit, evaluate, diagnose, consult and treat neonates, children, and adult with congenital anomalies, childhood acquired urologic problems such as tumors and trauma and overlapping problems of adolescence. May provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies. Assess, stabilize and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency consultative call services.
- Minimum Education: MD/DO degree, successful completion of an Accreditation council for graduate medical education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency in anesthesiology.
- Minimum Certification/Licenses: Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (or eligible for same);
- Current Board certification in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology or eligible for same;
- Experience: Demonstrate current competence and evidence of at least 75 pediatric anesthesiology procedures, reflective of the scope of privileges in the past 12 months, or demonstrated successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency or clinical fellowship within the past 12 months.
