As part of the ongoing expansion of its Basic Science Division, the Institute of Human Virology (IHV; www.ihv.org) invites applications for faculty position at the ranks of Assistant Professor, non-tenure track. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degrees and a track record of high-impact and creative research.

The IHV Basic Science Division has five well-established research programs in Structural Biology & Molecular Biophysics, Drug Development & Design, Microbial Pathogenesis, Cancer Biology, and Innate Immunity & Inflammation, which provide unique and diverse opportunities for resources and collaboration for new faculty. Candidates' research areas should complement and broaden one or more of these research programs.

Formed in 1996 as a partnership between the State of Maryland, the City of Baltimore, and the University of Maryland, IHV combines the disciplines of basic science, epidemiology and clinical research in a concerted effort to speed the discovery of diagnostics and therapeutics for a wide variety of chronic and deadly microbial infections and immune disorders. As a dynamic research institute now at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, all IHV faculty members hold appointments in School of Medicine departments and have access to resources and benefits thereof.
