The Senior Payroll Specialist primary purpose is to provide exceptional customer experience to payroll customers by providing solutions, analysing and resolving complex issues and provide quality production of complex payroll activities for Laureate to ensure accurate and timely payroll processes and related services across the business. This role provides ongoing support to the Payroll Manager in all aspects of payroll processes and systems improvements, internal and external audit.

On a typical day in this role you will:

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day Laureate payroll process including maintenance and administration of records / systems; and quality checking of data
  • Administration of EOF & EOM process
  • Assist with the Administration of EOY process
  • Customer inquiries management
  • Support Payroll Manager with ad-hoc projects and process/system improvements


  • This is a Permanent Part Time (0.6) role based in Sydney

    Who are you?

    To be successful in the Senior Payroll Specialist position you will have:

  • Proficient user of Micropay Meridian, Connx ESS and a large HRIS System preferred
  • Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Professional suite (particularly Excel, Word)
  • Discretion and the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Previous experience in payroll (minimum 5 years)
  • Knowledge of taxations and super requirements
  • Experience in the interpretation and application of Modern Award
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with positive and practical approach to customers while service excellence in a timely manner
  • Good interpersonal skills, establishing effective relationship with internal and an external costumers
