Chief Information Officer



Allegheny College seeks a collaborative and strategic leader as our Chief Information Officer (CIO). The CIO will be expected to drive innovative solutions that support the College’s strategic and operational goals, including diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. The CIO will have oversight and responsibility over the following areas: Enterprise Services, Library Resources, Public Services, Network Infrastructure, Data Security, Business Intelligence, and Academic Technology. This position will have the support of a strong LITS team and will maintain an appropriate Library and IT organizational structure that supports the needs of Allegheny College and will be responsible for effectively and efficiently serving stakeholders. The CIO reports to the Provost and works closely with the President to support LITS initiatives across the institution.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership in a large, complex organizational setting, preferably within a college or university and demonstrated knowledge of best practices surrounding information, technology, data security, technology infrastructure, and library services. The CIO will recommend policies, practices, and prioritization of resources and will provide team-oriented and transparent leadership. Qualifications include a minimum of five years of successful experience in Information Services and Technology executive leadership; a master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Library and Information Sciences, Computer Science, or Business Administration is strongly preferred.

The College’s picturesque location is ideal for outdoor recreation, with eight freshwater lakes, ski areas and recreational opportunities all within easy reach.
