The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a regional campus of the University of South Carolina located approximately thirty-five (35) miles south of Charlotte, NC, seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Librarian - 12-month tenure-track, beginning January 1, 2020 or August 16, 2021. 

The successful applicant will lead the instruction program, manage research and information services and digital humanities initiatives for Medford Library. This position is also responsible for developing and implementing outreach activities that promote library resources, programs, and services.

Instruction responsibilities include providing library instruction for students, faculty, and staff. Duties include needs assessment, instructional and pedagogical design, and facilitation of instructional materials for on-site and asynchronous sessions; communicating with faculty to develop customized library instruction sessions, creating and maintaining research guides, and assessment of instructional programs.

Outreach responsibilities include identifying and expanding student community and campus life partnerships, conceptualizing, organizing, and implementing programs and events, designing exhibits and displays, and creating print and digital marketing material.

The Librarian will also have oversight in resource sharing, acquisitions, collection development, policy development, student personnel recruiting and supervision and other duties as assigned.

 Minimum qualifications include a Masters of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited graduate program, demonstrated knowledge of electronic resources and information literacy, evidence of well-developed interpersonal, customer-service, teaching, research, and problem-solving skills.
