The Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering (IMSE) at West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications and nominations for a faculty position at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor in Supply Chain Optimization. Anticipated start date is August 2021. The specific research areas of interest for this faculty position include but are not limited to the theory and practice of large scale optimization, supply chains for application areas such as digital supply chains and distribution, emergency systems resiliency, health systems, transportation systems, and crowd sourcing models.

The Statler College has eight academic departments, over 4,200 students, and 135 faculty. The IMSE Department has 11 faculty members, 320 undergraduate, and 120 graduate students. The Department offers degrees at the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. levels.

Qualifications :

Eligible candidates must hold at the time of appointment an earned doctorate in Industrial Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline, with at least one degree in Industrial Engineering. The successful candidates must have the ability to (1) develop and sustain an independent, nationally recognized, externally-sponsored research program, (2) teach lecture, laboratory or design courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, (3) collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams of faculty and other researchers across colleges and institutions, and (4) be engaged in professional activities. Candidates for the rank of Associate Professor must have an outstanding record of teaching, research and service.
